Retiring Products FAQ

Wow! Have you checked out the three retiring products list? Links are to the right. Don't be overwhelmed, Stampin' Up! has our best interests at heart and is making changes for the better; including bigger seasonal mini catalogs! So room must be made for all the new goodies we get to enjoy on June 1^st!

Remember, retiring products are only available while supplies last and some items are discounted!  So Click the Shop Now button to avoid a Sold Out frown.

Here are some notes about the huge retiring lists:

- 20120-2012 In Colors – retiring as anticipated, we saw this one coming; say so long to Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush and Peach Parfait.

- All Designer Series Paper, Simply Sent, Quick Accents – retiring as anticipated.

- All Definitely Decorative and Simply Adorned – all going.

- All A La Carte Single Stamps and Hostess Sets – all going!

- Any items with an asterisk (*) – this item is being reconfigured. It could mean repackaging or a new style.

- Classic Stamp pads and Color Family pad packs - all colors listed. Stampin' Up! is reconfiguring the style of pad, the colors are not retiring just the style of the pad. The pad surface will now be a Firm Foam which will help it hold more ink and prevent any discoloration.  

- Classic Stamp Ink Refills - you cannot use the classic refills on the new Firm Foam pads and vice versa so if you need classic refills for the current style buy them now.

- Craft Stamp pads, including Craft Spots and Craft Refills - all except Basic Black and Whisper White will be retired. Yep, you heard right, black and white only available come June 1st! Buy your refills now!

- Stampin’ Write Markers – only some will still be available for purchase singly. There will still be packs of each color family and the entire set available. Check your markers performance now and note which ones you need to re-purchase. Remember to store your markers horizontally, sideways, to prevent them from drying out.

- Cardstock 12x12 Textured – all retiring!

- Cardstock 12x12 Smooth – only available in select individual colors and in packs of each family.

-          Please note the Paper Snips 103579 pg 208 and Craft Scissors 108360 are NOT retiring, that was a typo.

How To:

1. First cut your Pink Piroutte cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”. This will produce two equal halves from a regular 8 ½” x 11” piece.

2. Score cardstock at 4 ¼” using Simply Scored tool, the paper should be hot dog style, place the length of 8 ½” against the top edge. Hamburger style is taller, placing the length of 8 1/2” against the right edge.

3. Trim a piece of Specialty DSP to 3 ¾” x 5”.

4. Adhere DSP to cardstock.

5. Trim another piece of DSP to 1” width x 12” long strip.

6. Trim two more pieces of DSP to 1 ½” width x 12” long strips.

7. Score the 1 ½” DSP strips at every ½” along the Simply Scored tool.

8. Fold the 1 1/2" strips accordion style along the cores and pinch until flattened nicely.

9. Adhere ends of strip together using glue dots, or Sticky Strip if you prefer.

10. Put glue do in center and a few around the center, adhere to card front

11. Put glue dot in center on front and adhere button

12. Fold the 1" strips accordian style along the scores and pinch until flattened.

13. Snip DSP so only a few bends are used. 

14. Wrap Baker's Twine around center leaving about 2" to start and tie a knot, trim to leave antennae

15. Do this again to make another butterfly, adhere with glue dot.

How To:

1. Firstly, you may want to reink your VersaMark pad if it is dry or old. Refill #102193 $3.95 pg 203. 
2. Cut Whisper White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (which will produce two equal halves),

3. Fold or score cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2",

4. Cut DSP to4 1/4" x 5".
5. Adhere DSP to cardstock front with SNAIL,
6. Rub scrap Whisper White thoroughly with the Embossing Buddy sachet,

7. Stamp images in VersaMark onto Whisper White,
8. Quickly dump Black embossing powder over VersaMarked image while holding over Powder Pal tray, tap off into tray,
9. Use fingernail or cotton swab to quickly remove any stray powder that doesn't tap off,
10. Use Heat Tool to emboss the image to a shiny finish, I recommend doing this under a lamp so you can see when entire image is embossed.
11. Cut around images with paper snips,
12. Adhere with SNAIL,
17. Color in with Stampin Write Markers.
